When you sign up for HubSpot you will need to purchase Seats as part of your package. This article explains what Seats are and how to use them.
Seats is how HubSpot defines the level of access each user has to your portal. When you purchase HubSpot your subscription will include specific seats. This is separate from Permission Sets, which dictates the level of access on a more granular level.
There are 5 kinds of seats:
- Core Seat: this seat type provides your user with access to the features and tools in the overall base system. Core seats are perfect for marketing teams, operations users, website and development team members, and general super admins
- Sales Hub Seat: this seat type gives your user access to the Sales Hub specific features. Sales seats are designed for Salespeople and team members who need to use the sales features. For example, if your finance person needs to create quotes, then they would need a Sales Seat.
- Service Hub Seat: this seat type gives your user access to the Service Hub specific features. Service seats are designed for customer service team and team members who need to use the services features. For example, if you need to auto assign conversations to a person, then they would need a Service Seat.
- View-Only Seat: this seat allows your user to view elements within your portal without making any changes to your account. Please note, there are certain tools (e.g. social posts, forms) that are inaccessible to View-Only Seats.
- Partner Seat: this seat is a free seat that gives your HubSpot Solutions Partner employees access to all features in your portal.
Who can assign seats?
If you are a Super Admin in the portal, you have access to assign seats. You can also give access to individual users to assign seats in the Permission Settings. We recommend you limit the number of people who have access to assign seats as this should be managed from as admin level.
